Welcome to the largest online catalogue of Czech cancellation from the period October 28’th 1918 to March 14'th 1939.
Jacques has been collecting stamps from the first Czech-Slovakian republic since he was six years old. He started attending the Danish branch of ArGe when he was 14 and became a full borne member when he turned 18. Skip forward 18 years to around 2000. This was the time when the first building blocks of what later became this site was laid.
As he started to seriously collect cancellation, he soon realised that there was many of his cancellation that simply did not exist in the Monografie Československých Známek or the registered information was wrong. That is when he started his first registration in a mere spread sheet.
Skip forward additional 18 years and the spread sheet had more than 34.000 entries - and it was far from finished. Something else needed to be done.
Luckily Jacques’ daughter is a web developer, so the answer was simple. They were going to build an online catalogue that could hold all his registered cancellation. Furthermore, it should be accessible for all collectors around the world, so you together can share your knowledge and make it complete.
Our mission is to gather all Czech cancellation from 1918 to 1939 in a single place and make it easy for you to access them. The catalogue is based on the Monografie Československých Známek Volume 16, 1 + 2, and Volume 17, 1 + 2.
This is the preliminary results of more than 15 years of research. The catalogue is still under development and more features will come with time. We have planned the following extensions to the catalogue at the current time:
